Edgware Women’s Lodge hold Installation
Edgware Women's Lodge
Report by Joella Leaf
Naomi Lesser was today, 21 March 2017, reinstalled, by National monitor Eve Swabe, as President of Edgware Women’s Lodge for a sixth term.
Paying tribute to Naomi, Lodge Monitor Norma Sinclair thanked her for her work during the past year and she presented Naomi with a Marks and Spencer Gift Token as a mark of appreciation from the members.
Naomi replied by saying how much she had enjoyed her five years of office and was looking forward to her sixth term. She gave a brief résumé of the Lodge’s activities, including donations to charities over the past year and paid special tribute to her hard working Council and all those who attended meetings regularly. Thanks were especially given to Sylvia Levy, who has retired as Lodge Treasurer after many years’ service. Naomi emphasised the need for new members and asked everyone to encourage their friends to come along.
Flowers were presented to Eve and all present toasted Naomi’s health and the Lodge’s future, before enjoying a delicious lunch prepared so beautifully by Helen Levenson and Daphne Taylor.
The afternoon concluded with a very interesting talk by Graham Jenkins of the “Door to Door Theatre” about his life and work in theatre. A truly memorable afternoon.
Photos of the event were taken by Daphne Taylor.
