BBUK represented at the Annual commemoration of the Roma Holcaust

On 2nd August, LBIA Chairman Tony Swabe, Director Jeremy Havardi and former BBUK National Chair Eve Swabe represented B’nai B’rith UK at the annual commemoration of the Roma Holocaust at a ceremony in Hyde Park. August 2, 1944 marks the date when nearly 3,000 Roma and Sinti women, men and children were murdered in Auschwitz-Birkenau. Representatives of the Roma community spoke movingly about the tragic suffering of their people in the death camps and highlighted the persecution and discrimination that they face today. Jeremy Havardi expressed BBUK’s ongoing solidarity with the Roma people and said that the organisation was committed to supporting all minorities facing persecution.’
